From DJing within intimate underground venues to producing eclectic arthouse film scores and A/V, Lonely Owl has carved out a home-grown artistic vision and diverse style.

Exploring and subverting genres of music is key to Lonely Owls' complex and varied sound. From an early age Frank Zappa, David Bowie, Brian Eno & David Byrne were crucial influential figures. He drew inspiration from the bleak experimental sounds of Warp Records & Ninja Tune, and this laid the foundations of how his music style was approached and developed. 

Lonely Owl has created music for theatre and performance at North East-based arts and culture organisations such as Dance City and Alphabetti Theatre. Having gained experience at the internationally renowned culture centre Sage Gateshead and graduating from Gateshead College (2015) in Music Production, Lonely Owl has carved out a clear identity that reflects his conceptual and open-minded creative approach. Mixing up broad styles ranging from Trip Hop, Nu Jazz, House & Dance and bringing in samples of raw material recordings, Lonely Owl continues to evolve and push boundaries through his tenacious approach and melodic thinking.
